The Mirage 2000-5 is an advanced version of the Mirage 2000, a multi-role jet fighter designed and manufactured by Dassault Aviation. Greece operates the Mirage 2000-5 as part of its Air Force. The Mirage 2000-5 is equipped with enhanced avionics, including the RDY-2 radar and a digital fly-by-wire system, making it a highly capable aircraft for both air superiority and ground attack missions.

Greece first introduced the Mirage 2000 into its fleet in the late 1980s, and the upgraded Mirage 2000-5 variant was delivered in the early 2000s. The aircraft has been instrumental in Greece’s defense strategy, particularly in terms of air policing and territorial defense, due to its advanced radar and weapon systems.

The Mirage 2000-5s have been involved in various NATO missions and are considered a key asset for the Hellenic Air Force. They are also often seen as a counterbalance to the Turkish F-16s in the region.
